Car Rental at Podgorica Airport
What It’s Actually Like to Rent a Car There
At Sitngo, we make it easy to get a rental car right at Podgorica Airport. No shuttles, no searching for a desk somewhere in the city. You land, you walk out — and there’s our manager, Evgeny, waiting at the exit with your name on a sign. It’s a simple way to start your trip, especially if you’re planning to see Montenegro by car.
The handoff’s quick.
You take a look at the vehicle, sign the paperwork, make the payment — and you’re off. No unnecessary steps. No standing around.
Returning the car is just as straightforward. You bring it back to the airport — that’s it. No need to figure out public transport, chase down a taxi, or book a transfer. And if you’re short on time before your flight and don’t get a chance to fill up the tank? Just let us know. We’ll handle the refueling and adjust the total based on what’s left.
Podgorica Airport (code: TGD) is the main air hub in Montenegro. A lot of travelers prefer picking up a car here instead of figuring things out after arrival. It just saves time.
If you're flying into Tivat instead, we’ve got you covered there too — same setup, same process.
How to Rent a Car in Podgorica
To book a car, just fill out a request on our website — let us know your travel dates, what kind of car you’re looking for, and select Podgorica as your pickup location.
The earlier you book, the better — especially if you’re coming in summer, when demand is high.
Once we receive your request, one of our managers will reach out to confirm the booking and walk you through the next steps.
We’ve designed the whole process to be as easy as possible.
No complicated forms, no back-and-forth.
Just land, hop in your car, and go explore — old towns, mountain roads, quiet beaches. We’ll handle the logistics so you can enjoy the drive.

You’ll also have a personal manager in Podgorica — Evgeny.
He’ll bring you the car and pick it up when you’re done. And he’ll be around the whole time you have it — just a message or call away if something comes up on the road. Whether it’s car-related or just a quick “where’s a good local spot for dinner?” — he’s your guy.
Minimum rental? One day.
Maximum? We don’t set one.
Why Renting a Car in Podgorica Just Makes Sense
The best way to explore Montenegro? Drive through it — from coast to mountains — in your own car.
And ideally, one rented from Sitngo.
Yes, public transport exists here. And honestly, that’s its biggest achievement.
It’s not especially comfortable. Or frequent.
Buses run between cities, but the schedules are loose. Stops aren’t always near tourist areas — and definitely not close to the more remote beaches.
Here’s what local travel costs look like in 2025:
-
A city bus ride in Podgorica: around €1.50
-
Podgorica to Budva by bus: roughly €6
-
Podgorica to Kotor: about €8
-
Train to the coast (Bar): €2.40
-
Podgorica to Nikšić by train: €2.80
There is a railway line, but it only connects a few places — mostly Bar and some mountain towns. It’s an option, sure, but pretty limited.
In truth, most people here drive.
Nearly everyone gets a license, and cars are the go-to way to get around.
That’s why you’ll see a lot of taxis — though don’t expect Uber or Bolt. We don’t have those. Some companies reply quickly via Viber, and you’ll often find drivers waiting near major bus stops.
We ran the numbers.
If you're planning to explore different beaches or cities every day, renting a car ends up cheaper than bouncing around on buses or grabbing taxis back and forth.
