Just used these guys for a recent trip around Montenegro after seeing the good reviews. We hired a car for 9 days, and they were super easy to deal with and responsive. They dropped the car off to our accommodation in Kotor (very handy) and we did the handover at Tivat Airport. Recommend them if you are doing a road trip within Montenegro!

Excellent car rental company! Our experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. As soon as we arrived at the airport, they were already waiting for us. We completed all the paperwork in the car park, and the whole process was very quick and straightforward. We were able to leave with the car without wasting any time. Everything was very well organised. The return was just as easy and fast, with no waiting at all. We also had the option of leaving the keys in the glovebox, which made the process even more convenient. Communication was excellent throughout our entire rental, both by email and WhatsApp. They were always friendly, helpful and responsive. Overall, we highly recommend this company 100%. We would definitely use them again!

Very easy, no down payement. Be sure to rent early because you may run out of the cheapest options. We paid €370 for a mini Cooper convertible for 3 days. We picked up the car at Podgorica Airport, went to the mountains (Durmitor NP) for 3 days and we returned the car at our next stay in Budva. They came all the way to our accomodation to pick up the car. I recommend getting an insurance as we were hit by a camper while parked. Luckily no dents, just a tiny scratch and it was totally okay. Very good communication through Whatsapp!

I have used SitnGo 4 times now. Very easy, great price. No hassle. Have them meet you at the airport in Podgorica or deliver as well. Great service. Best car rental in Montenegro.
16 August 2026
We rented a car at Tivat Airport, having booked it in advance. No security deposit was required. Communication with the team was good. It was convenient to be able to leave the car in the airport parking lot on the last day without having to wait for someone to check it back in. We will definitely use this service again.

Very good service, cheaper than the other companies you find at the airport. The second driver is included without additional cost.

The Benefits of Vacationing in Kotor with a Rental Car

A rental car is absolutely essential for vacationers wishing to venture beyond the city limits. Kotor has beautifully preserved its medieval character—a quality that earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. However, the labyrinthine streets of its most fascinating district—replete with small churches and historic houses—are entirely pedestrianized. Furthermore, a car will be of no use for visiting the city's main attraction: the unique and unparalleled 13th-century Fortress of St. Ivan (San Giovanni), situated at the foot of Mount Lovćen. To reach it, you must hike uphill for 1.5 to 2 hours, ascending a path comprising nearly 1,500 steps.

Renting a car in Kotor is an indispensable service if you intend to make your vacation fun, engaging, and full of variety. Since the town is small and its primary attractions consist of architectural monuments, visitors will undoubtedly want to venture further afield in search of more vivid and diverse experiences. In this regard, renting a car from the company SitnGo is the best possible choice.

Where to go from Kotor by a rented car?

This resort is very popular among tourists, mainly due to its wonderful medieval atmosphere and amazing views. However, it should be noted that there are no conditions for beach rest, shopping, or extreme entertainment in this region. For such categories of tourists, it is recommended to visit neighboring regions. The service of car hire will help you get anywhere you need. For the guests of Kotor, we advise booking a car in advance.

Popular destinations to go by car from Kotor and spend less than 1.5 hours on the way:

  • To improve your health, you can go to Herceg Novi (42 km), where you will find a huge selection of beaches - pebble, concrete, mud, etc. – you can choose the ideal one for rest. Good conditions for a beach rest can also be found even closer — in Budva (25 km) and the village of Becici (27 km), which is home to the most beautiful beach in Europe (recognized in 1935).
  • Budva is also a good option for entertainment. Families with children, individual tourists, groups, as well as divers and extreme sports enthusiasts come here for perfect rest. Here you can visit an amusement park, a water park, and a mini zoo in the vicinity of the town. To get new impressions, you may have a dive to reefs and sunken ships.
  • Fans of fashion shopping should go to the city of Bar, which is 74 km away, where the Topolica market is located. It is the largest market on the Adriatic coast. Another market is located in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, which is 86 km away. No brand, but high-quality Italian clothes and shoes can be bought in Herceg Novi at more pleasant prices.
  • It is a good idea to go on excursions to the cities located above the bay. A 10-minute drive will take you to Perast. This town was popular among pirates. A half of the town went underwater after the earthquake in the 17th century (to see the underwater part of the old town, you can go on an organised diving tour). A little further - 17 km from Kotor - is the oldest town of the bay, called Risan, which is also worth visiting.

Those who are fond of nature and adventures are welcome to Lovcen National Park (78 km), or may climb up to the Ostrog monastery, go fishing at Skadar Lake (75 km), where you can also see the incredible variety of birds.

Tips for those who travel by rented car

The cost of renting a car in Kotor, as well as prices for petrol in the country, are acceptable. When planning trips to long distances and especially to mountains by serpentine roads, it is better to take a more powerful car. To visit the national park Lovchen or Skadar Lake, the best option is a jeep or a crossover.

For moving along the bay by the comfortable highway E65 or trips to Budva and Bar by the motorway E80 with high-quality coverage, you do not have to overcome the unbelievable turns of serpentines, and therefore, you can choose a car with a less powerful engine.

Good news for the users of our service who plan to spend their vacation in Kotor: to save on a taxi and to catch the return flight, regardless of the carriers, you can rent a car and return it right at the Tivat airport, which is only 7 km away from Kotor.

Hello, I'd like to know if it's obligatory to use snow chains when driving in the city. Is driving without snow chains considered a violation, and how large is the fine? Reply

Hello, it's obligatory for all cars in Montenegro to use winter tyres and chains between November 15 and April 15. This rule applies to all roads in the country except for the Adriatic highway (Jadranski put). The fine for violating this rule is between 50 and 200 euro. Reply

Good afternoon. In case of late return of the car, the client should pay the cost of renting per day. But we are always ready to meet our clients halfway and try to resolve all disputed situations peacefully. In the case of a slight delay, when the client warns us in advance, we have our right not to charge. Each case is solved individually. Reply

What is the situation with the gas stations in Montenegro? Especially interested in the highlands. My friends told me that you can not carry fuel with you, and in the mountains there are practically no gas stations. Is is true? Reply

Hello. Indeed, the transportation of fuel in containers in Montenegro is prohibited. There are really few gas stations in small settlements, remote from the coast, as well as in the highlands. The way out of the situation is careful planning of your route. On our website you can see the map, where all refuelings in Montenegro are marked. Take into account the location of the nearest gas stations when you plan your route. Reply
